In November 2007 Charles University LRC was visited by two American colleagues from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., Prof. Marcia B. Bordman, a member of the English Department and author of the Gallaudet Writer´s Handbook, and Larry Musa, a Global Education Program Specialist from the Gallaudet Office of International Programs. On the agenda of friendly meetings were discussions about possibilities of cooperation for the coming period, namely student and teacher exchanges. First steps were also taken regarding signing an agreement on future cooperation between these two significant universities.

Christopher Chirico, an ASL interpreter, who is a part-time ASL teacher at the Faculty of Arts, was present at all these meetings.
